OUR STORY
Lugshare Transport Inc. was founded by Ms. Thao Che and is based in Vancouver, Canada. While studying abroad in Seattle, (WA), she sometimes had friends visited from other state (mostly California) and also had them brought some goods for her. Those goods can be food ingredients or stuffs that were not available in her state, but California. Through this chance encounter, she discovered a significant potential for business ventures, specifically in the field of peer-to-peer (P2P) delivery networks. This type of business enables us to benefit from a cheaper shipping fee in comparison with traditional delivery services, while also receiving the goods at a faster rate. Usually, these networks operate on Facebook by utilizing the Group feature. Users have the ability to publish their products or services in these groups and then wait for potential customers to make contact. She consistently believed that the Lugshare P2P delivery concept was fascinating and required expansion in terms of its capacity.
UNIQUE VALUE PROPOSITION
Sustainable Development Goals
The United Nations adopted the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), also referred to as the Global Goals, in 2015 as a universal call to action to eradicate poverty, safeguard the environment, and guarantee that by 2030, all individuals will experience peace and prosperity. The 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are interconnected, acknowledging that actions taken in one area will influence outcomes in others and that development must preserve environmental, social, and economic sustainability.
Lugshare is proud to support the following Sustainable Development Goals.
Lugshare proudly contributes to achieving the following Sustainable Development Goals
SDG 11: Make cities inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable
Despite making up only 3% of the planet’s land area, cities are responsible for 60% to 80% of energy use and 75% of carbon emissions (UN, 2020). Nine out of ten residents of cities worldwide were breathing air that did not meet WHO air quality guidelines, according to a United Nations report (UN, 2020). The emergence of e-commerce has exacerbated the global environmental crisis in cities since it requires more driving to meet the demands of customers who order products online for faster delivery.
According to World Economic Forum estimates, until 2030, the number of delivery vehicles in the world’s top 100 cities will increase by 36%; emissions from this traffic will rise by 32%, and congestion will rise by over 21%. This means that each passenger will have to commute an extra 11 minutes each day (World Economic Forum, 2020). Certain cities anticipate significant disruptions to inner-city traffic if measures to address the last-mile delivery sector are not implemented.
Lugshare is a smart delivery platform that aims to reduce shipping costs, improve speed and convenience, ensure safety and security, and be environmentally friendly. Its purpose is to make cities more resilient, safe, inclusive, and sustainable.
SDG 13: Take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts
Climate change will negatively impact every ecosystem if it continues unchecked, raising average global temperatures beyond 3°C (UN, 2022). Reducing greenhouse gas emissions is the most sensible course of action from an economic and commercial standpoint. In order to be on track to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050, the Canadian government has set a target to reduce emissions by 40% below 2005 levels by 2030 (Canada, 2022). By matching available cars in the city with transportation needs, Lugshare helps mitigate the negative effects of the logistics sector while saving money and safeguarding the environment. The eco-friendliness of Lugshare surpasses its intelligence. Reduced traffic volume results in lower emissions and better air quality. Those with cars who frequently commute into the city are Lugshare’s primary target audience, not those who work primarily in delivery. The environment and drivers both gain from the reuse of current resources and the revenue generated from them.
